The Bridge Centre will provide new retail units, built to a standard developer's shell specification with a minimum clear height to eaves of 6.5 metres. The scheme will include circa 200 surface level scar spaces accessed off Bath Road. The existing gyratory at the junction of Bath Road, Ivy lane and Avenue La Fleche will be re-modeled to provide a new junction, allowing the site of the existing Bridge Centre to be encompassed with the new retail development.
It is anticipated that access will be available to retailers in time for Christmas 2015 trading.
Chippenham is a strong market town 4 miles due south of Junction 17 of the M4 motorway, 13 miles east of Bath and 14 miles north of Trowbridge.
The site of the new retail scheme is a short walk due west of the existing pedestrianised zone of Chippenham. The development will benefit from excellent visibility and access to ivy Lane (A420), Bath Road and Avenue La Flaeche (A4) which together provide the main through routes from east to west and south.
